As they say, time flies when you're having fun. It's already been a speedy six months since Caitlin and Luke made their beautiful wedding vows, yet it feels like just yesterday. The years-in-the-making ceremony took place at the couples' local church, followed by a food and dance fest at Audley Dance Hall in The Royal National Park. For all the nature-oriented couples out there, look no further for inspiration.
On the proposal:
"The proposal was very relaxed! We went to a local spot where I often go to sit, relax and watch the sunset over the water when I need to chill out. We were walking along the edge of the rock face when I turned around to see Luke on one knee!"
As two of the most outdoorsy types we know, Caitlin - a kindergarten teacher - and Luke - a physiotherapist - the proposal location was very apt. And of course, this sentiment also rang true in their equally appropriate choice of the reception venue, nestled amongst the trees with views of the river.
Caitlin singles out the enjoyment of guests as the biggest priority for the day (undeniably achieved). From offering a delicious spread of dishes to a super talented live band, there was no disappointment.
On her favourite part of the day:
"The live band was the highlight for us! A friend of ours had started a band, and we knew it would be good, but they blew us away. The atmosphere by good, relaxing music at first and then fun, dance music. It was so great to be able to have fun dancing with all of our friends at the end of the night."
We love working on a beautiful floral theme at Terrace Press, so we crafted an inspired yet classic set of stationery for the couple. Wax seals added a touch of elegance to finish off the look.
On the dress:
"I bought it from The Bridal Atelier in Double Bay (I spent a lot of time checking out brands and dresses online). I found that the store stocked some of the only dresses I loved, so I headed there and picked one out on the first visit!"
She almost makes it sound too easy. But that might be what makes this happy day stand out among the rest: a sense of joy was captured in every single moment and every smile. Even when the weather took a turn for the worse, spirits were high, and the camera kept rolling.
Which is exactly why we should take Caitlin's advice so seriously:
"Think about the things that are most important to you and spend time on those. Everything else won't matter to you on the day. Don't worry about what is 'normal' at a wedding because it's your day!"
There you have it, folks. Maybe cultivating a stress-free yet endlessly beautiful wedding really is that simple. (At least Terrace Press can ease some of your worries).
